Which certificates can I track?
The common UK ones: Gas Safety (CP12), EICR, EPC, plus other dated records you want to keep an eye on, such as fire alarm or legionella checks. Each certificate gets an issue date and an expiry date, and KeepCert works out the rest.
How do reminders work, and when are they sent?
We check your certificates every day. You get an email about 60 days before a certificate expires, so there's time to book an engineer, and another nudge if something has already lapsed. Reminders go to the email address on your account.
What do the green, amber and red markers mean?
Green means valid with plenty of time. Amber means it expires soon and is worth booking now. Red means it has expired. It's designed so you can glance at the dashboard and know where you stand.
What happens when I reach my plan's property limit?
Nothing is deleted or hidden. Starter covers up to 3 properties and Portfolio up to 10 — when you reach the limit you'll be asked to move up a plan before adding another. Above 10 properties we'll agree Enterprise pricing with you. See pricing.
Are my certificate files stored securely?
Yes. Uploads go into private storage that only your account can open — files are never publicly listed or guessable, and download links are short-lived and unique to you. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
How do I cancel my Portfolio plan?
In Account settings there's a Cancel subscription button — one click and one confirmation. No emails, no phone calls. Your cancellation and refund terms are set out in the terms of service.
Does KeepCert replace a gas engineer or electrician?
No, and it isn't trying to. KeepCert is a reminder and record-keeping tool. Only a Gas Safe registered engineer or a qualified electrician can carry out inspections and issue valid certificates, and KeepCert isn't compliance or legal advice.
Can I upload a certificate before I've had the inspection?
You can add the dates as soon as you have them, and attach the file when the engineer sends it. Uploading documents you know to be false or altered isn't allowed — see acceptable use in the terms.
Can I delete a single certificate?
Yes. Each certificate has a Delete button, which removes both the record and the uploaded file from storage permanently.
How do I delete my account and everything in it?
Go to Account settings and use Delete account. You'll be asked to type DELETE to confirm, then every property, certificate and uploaded file is permanently removed, along with your login. This can't be undone.
